Sam Raimi Promises Another Evil Dead

About half a year ago, the alligator horror movie Crawl hit theaters, and its producer, cult director Sam Raimi (known for Evil Dead, Army of Darkness, and Spider-Man), hinted that fans might soon get a continuation of the legendary Evil Dead series. A few years back, Raimi and lead actor Bruce Campbell returned to the franchise through the series Ash vs Evil Dead, which ran for three seasons and was generally well-received by fans.

While most people would probably welcome a new film with excitement, the director recently gave a small update that, unfortunately, doesn’t sound very promising. Although Raimi reportedly would be happy to make the film, he wants to do it only if Campbell returns as well. However, it seems Campbell has permanently said goodbye to his character, leaving the project currently out of reach.

At the same time, Raimi revealed that they are working with an unnamed young director on another film set in the same universe. Whether this will be a continuation of the 2013 reboot, a follow-up to the original series, or something entirely different remains a mystery for now.
